Jack (Barney) Barnes

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of our good friend and longest serving staff member of the Skeeter trail. Jack (Barney) Barnes passed away this morning after a long fight with cancer. Join us in praying for his family during this tough time in their lives.

Jack will be missed by all of us at XFL. His humor kept us all going on tough days…godspeed my friend.

Grand Lake Rescheduled for September

We have rescheduled the Grand event that was postponed due to high water this spring. The event will be held on September the 17th out of Martin Landing. As we said all along, it’s impossible to reschedule a event for this lake without stepping on someone else’s toes. We know that there are other events that weekend, we know that there will be a lot of boats on the water, we know that Wolf Creek is spoken for…we know that its not perfect, but we are left with no choice but this date. As always, you can pay and not fish, and still be eligible for the championship. Keep an eye on the web site for more information to come.

Ft. Gibson Reminders

This event will be a 4 fish limit! DO NOT bring more than 4 fish to the tank, and you must cull after you reach your limit.

Take off will be about 6:15 AM.

Take care of your fish! Use ice if necessary, change your water out occasionally, leave your aerators running.

If you launch at Taylor’s Ferry, you may load your boat before weighing your fish.

You must idle under all bridges.

Off limits will be the area between the two boat ramps. DO NOT cast into the off limits area. (see web site for picture).

Texoma

Kingston, OK –  After what seemed like an eternity, the  XFL-Extreme Fishing League finally got to hold  a regularly scheduled tournament.  Torrential rains pounded Oklahoma from late April through early May causing the lakes in NE Oklahoma to reach record levels forcing the tournament directors to reschedule the Grand and Ft. Gibson tournaments.  Continue reading Texoma

Texoma is the next stop….

The next stop on the XFL Southern Division is this coming Sunday June 25th out of Catfish Bay on Texoma. We will be set up to take entries starting at noon on Saturday at the ramp. As always, email or text us if you have any questions.

Ft. Gibson rescheduled for July 9th

We received notice today from the Corp that we may reschedule the cancelled event for Sunday July 9th. The website has been updated to reflect this new date. FYI- we are still trying to find a date for the rescheduled Grand event.

Gibson Tournament cancelled….

As we suspected, Gibson and Taylors Ferry will not be back to normal by this weekend. We will reschedule this event for a later date. Keep an eye on our web site and the Zone for the updated dates for Grand and Gibson.

Gibson Event

After talking with the Corp this morning, it still does not look good for the event on Gibson next weekend. We have already looked into moving the event, and cannot get the necessary permits to do so, due to other events the same weekend on area lakes.

We will make the final call Tuesday morning after seeing what the weekend rains do to the lake. If we cancel, we will do so by noon on Tuesday.

Those of you who already paid an entry (for Grand or Gibson) will have them returned or refunded if we cancel. If you want an entry rolled to Texoma, email us (no phone calls please) and let us know.

Grand Lake Tournament to be rescheduled

As predicted, the water level on Grand will not allow us to have the event this weekend. We are trying to find a date to reschedule this event (not easy due to so many other tournaments on Grand). It looks like we may have to do a Saturday event just to be able to get an open date on Grand. We will announce very soon….

If you do not want to have your entry rolled over to the rescheduled event, email us at: info@fishxfl.com

Grand Lake water level

The chances of us having this event on Sunday is not looking good due to the water level on Grand Lake. As of right now, we will make a decision by Wednesday night as to have it, or reschedule. We will be in contact with Stan Honeycutt, and if he cancels the Grand Challenge, we will do the same for our event and try to reschedule for a later date.
