Our next event for 2012 will be on Grand Lake out of Martin Landing. We will be set up and taking entries beginning at noon on Saturday up until the 6 PM cut off. A few reminders:
* No fishing will be allowed within Echo Bay. Draw an imaginary line from each of the furthest outward points on each side of the bay, and that is the off limit line.

The XFL-Extreme Fishing League held it’s first tournament of the 2012 season on Lake Eufaula. The weeks leading up to this event saw lots of big fish being caught with a major tournament the week prior taking over 25 lbs to win. What a difference a week makes. A major cold front moved through the area on Thursday bringing cold, windy and rainy conditions followed by typical springtime post frontal conditions of high pressure and bluebird skies. If that wasn’t enough Saturday night the front came back from the south as a warm front bringing dark skies and heavy rains on Sunday. Fortunately, the rains abated at take-off and the 155 boat field was able to blast off at safe light. Continue reading Eufaula- 3/11/12 Maynard and Maynard Win $20,000!
Take off tomorrow will be at safe light (approx. 7:15). Remember that the off limits will be all of Eufaula Cove from the point of the rock jetty straight across to the dock on the opposite bank.
At this time, texting is not working due to poor cell signals. We will try again tomorrow to get it to work.
With the parking lot at Eufaula Cove being a mess, please give yourself plenty of time to launch. We will run you thru thru line as normal, then follow the detour signs around to the parking area. DO NOT block the train track, as they do not slow down. We will start boat check at approx. 5:30m am, and we will have someone checking live wells at both ramps, and on the water.
Remember, tonight is Daylight Savings Time, so remember to set your clocks ahead 1 hour before going to bed.
If you launch at Eufaula Cove, you may load your boat before weighing your fish and drive to the weigh in. This is only Eufaual Cove, not Peter’s point ramp.
Thanks, and good luck to everyone tomorrow!
Our first tournament of 2012 will be this Sunday at Eufaula. We will take entries at the pavilion on Saturday from 9am until 6pm. We will not have a meeting this year, but will still post the drawings at the pavilion after 6pm. We will also post the pairings on line, on the Bass Zone, and send them out via text if you are registered. Reminder- you must be in the tournament to register for the text messaging, so if you enter at the pavilion, you will still need to go on line to register for the text messaging feature.
*Be sure to register your Skeeter for the $2500 Customer Appreciation Bonus Money. This has to be done prior to the tournament in order to qualify for the bonus.
*Sunday is the first day of daylight savings time, so be sure to turn your clocks up one hour on Saturday night.
*All entries dropped off at Brad’s Boat Sales must be in the box by 5pm Friday afternoon, before we leave for Eufaula.
*Saturday will be a demo event, so please stop by and take a ride in a new 2012 Skeeter.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call or email me.
Something new for this year will be credit card payments at the ramp. As long as we have a good cell phone signal, we will except entry fee payments via credit card at the ramp on Saturday during registration hours. Normal credit card fee’s to apply to total…
NOTE: Example below based on $200 membership + $200 entry fee.
If credit card is swiped (example: $400 entry + 2.75% fee= $411.00).
If card has to be keyed in, the fee increases ($400 entry + 3.5% + .15 fee= $414.15).
Daylight savings time goes into effect on Sunday March 11th. Remember to set your clocks ahead 1 hour on Saturday night the 10th. We will announce an approximate take off time (based on daylight savings time) sometime on Saturday the 10th. We look forward to seeing all of you at Eufaula for our first event!
Thanks to Jeremy at Brad’s Boat Sales in Claremore for noticing a typo on the printed brochures. The Championship entry fee is $300 per team (not person as it shows).
